Do you want to move in the snow and in superbly clear air with rosy cheeks? The village of Hinterzarten and its surroundings, offer you wonderful possibilities for hiking, and for practising cross-country skiing, ski touring or alpine skiing in a snow-covered landscape. Or you look at the skaters doing spins on the natural pond.

Around Hinterzarten, twelve premium winter hiking trails with a length of three to twelve kilometers and one snowshoe trail with signposts are waiting for you. The panorama trails provide pure winter pleasure and wonderful views. Moreover, they offer numerous benches as well as cafes and inns in which for having a rest.

Wintersport

Hinterzarten is a real paradise for cross-country skiing enthusiasts. Nine trails with a length of two to ten kilometers are prepared for the classic as well as for the skating style. You can start almost directly in immediate vicinity to our hotel – you can also access a ski trail of 30 kilometres leading from Hinterzarten to the Schluchsee.

To the amateurs of alpine skiing, the Thoma ski centre, just below the summit of the Windeck mountain, offers three ski lifts and five runs with a length from 350 to 1400 metres. And, of course, the Feldberg, the biggest winter sports area north of the Alps, at an altitude of almost 1.500 metres, is only 30 minutes away by car.
