Arrival by train.
Hardly any other vacation region is as easy to reach as the Black Forest. So you can leave your car at home and travel to the varied landscape around Germany’s largest nature parks, the Black Forest National Park and the Black Forest Biosphere Reserve in an environmentally friendly way by train. The ICE train lines Frankfurt-Basel and the IC line Munich-Stuttgart-Basel, the IRE Ulm-Friedrichshafen-Basel frame the vacation region. The Höllentalbahn, the Schwarzwaldbahn and the Murgtalbahn cross the region from west to east. Trains and buses from the nine regional transport associations and DB-Regio provide access to the 11,000 square kilometer vacation region. Travel is particularly inexpensive with the Flex and Spar fares and the BahnCard from Deutsche Bahn. Locally, you can stay mobile at low cost with the bw tariff “bwegt” and the ticket offers of the regional transport associations. The KONUS guest card, which is available when staying overnight in one of the more than 148 KONUS towns in the Black Forest, offers vacationers a special advantage. With the KONUS guest card, you can explore the Black Forest vacation region by bus and train free of charge during your entire stay.
E-bikes
Explore the mountain and valley landscapes of the Black Forest vacation region in complete relaxation on an e-bike. Simply bring your personal e-bike with you or borrow one of our CUBE e-bikes. The batteries can be charged at our charging stations.
Photovoltaic system
Our photovoltaic system went into operation on July 15, 2023. Under optimal conditions, we now produce 320 kWh of electricity per day, which we use ourselves in the house. Another significant contribution to protecting the environment and reducing our CO₂ emissions.

Our guests can charge their e-cars overnight in our garage.
We produce our electricity via our combined heat and power plant, the photovoltaic system and obtain it as ECO electricity from hydropower from Lake Schluchsee.

Thanks to a well thought-out lighting concept, we create the ideal lighting mood for the respective purpose and save a significant amount of energy in the process.

Sustainability partner HTG
The “Sustainable Destination” seal stands for the sustainable and therefore intergenerational development of tourism in the Upper Black Forest vacation region. Since October 2014, the Upper Black Forest has been one of six pilot regions to successfully complete the certification process of the state of Baden-Württemberg.

The good is so close. That’s why we rely on tried-and-tested, seasonal produce from our local area for our food suppliers – and for good reason. This is because we support our regional farmers and food producers and also protect the environment.
As a member of Naturpark-Wirte and Schmeck-den-Süden-Gastronomomen, enjoyment and a clear conscience go hand in hand for us. Throughout the year you will find many regional dishes on our menu. In this way, we spoil our guests with traditional Black Forest quality and at the same time are committed to preserving our typical cultural landscape.

Our energy and water consumption and waste generation are each at least 30% better than the calculated median. We use numerous products from the region or from our own production and we pay attention to organic certification or the CO2 footprint.
