The crystal-clear air refreshes body and mind, the body’s defenses are strengthened and the good mood level rises. Whether you are a nature enthusiast or a winter sports enthusiast – everyone will find their favorite activity here.

And the icing on the cake after a freezing cold day? Meet up in our cozy fireplace lounge for après-ski, end the day with coffee and cake, sweet or savory, and a cocktail.

The cradle

of skiing

The success story from old wooden skis to lifestyle product: in the Black Forest Ski Museum in Hinterzarten you can experience the triumphant success of the boards to this day and the world that has developed around winter sports.

In the original rooms, the beginnings of skiing in the Black Forest, the Feldberg ski mountain and the first ski films are presented as well as winter sports equipment, ski fashion, winter painters, impressions of the Black Forest winter and much more.

The initiator of the museum was Georg Thoma, who made Hinterzarten famous all over the world with his Olympic victory in Squaw Valley in 1960.
