The most striking building in the village is the “Black Forest Cathedral”, the imposing domed church in the building complex of the former Benedictine monastery. It impresses with its perfect structural harmony. Inside, the rotunda shines in white marble. The golden domed cross is still a reminder of the time when St. Blasien was an imperial abbey and the abbot was also a prince.
