The Augustinian canons’ monastery from the 12th century. was secularized in 1806. The baroque monastery church “Mariä Himmelfahrt” was allowed to remain a pilgrimage destination for economic reasons and is still one of the most important Marian pilgrimage sites in the Archdiocese of Freiburg today.
