The “Wutachtalbahn” owes its nickname to its winding course and the only German roundabout tunnel. The 61.7 km long connecting line from the Hochrheinbahn to the Schwarzwaldbahn was built in 1890 as a strategic railroad in the northwest of the border around Switzerland.
